SIGHT ZONE on-line shop was developed
for all those people who are doing the best they can each day. It’s
for those people who have just recently lost their vision,
to help with all the little
things like shopping for groceries and all the not so little things like traveling alone in an unfamiliar place.
This site is for everyone who
is
blind or visually impaired and
is ready to get on with living!
My Story
My name is David Chatten-smith and
I am the owner of this on-line shop and the fonder of www.blinkfundraising.co.uk
.
I have been blindsince
December 2004 after suddenly being
struck down with Meningitis, ever since then I have changed how I look at
blindness and visual impairment. Now I consider myself to be blind.
Nothing much changed, except the way in which
I viewed myself.
I felt like I was missing
something or less capable. Being blind is just a part of who I am, like
being a Dad, Husbannd or a friend.
During the past few years I
have learned how to do things differently. Most of these things I was helped,
and encouraged by my wife and family and some times I figured out on my
own!
Other things, like how to cross
busy streets and knowing my area around me, It’s one thing to know
how to do something, another
to actually do the thing and a
whole new level of different when you feel comfortable and confident with
doing it.
I set up SIGHT ZONE as a one stop
shop for all your talking products, and all the little thing that make life
just that little bit eaiser, That is part of my
every day life.
I searched the internet, and asked others too! But I found
absolutely nothing that I was excited about.
So I then set up this on-line shop,
even Garry my guide dog was enthusiastic, I enjoy
talking with my customers,
hearing their stories and celebrating with them in their accomplishments.
I am 110% committed to providing quality equipment
at an affordable price.
